ADORATION – Reflect on God’s Greatness
GOD IS LOVE
John tells us that “God is love” (1 John 4:8). We see evidence that this attribute of God was active even before creation among the members of the Trinity. Jesus speaks to his Father of “my glory which you have given me in your love for me before the foundation of the world” (John 17:24), indicating that there was love from the Father to the Son from all eternity. It continues at the present time, for we read, “The Father loves the Son, and has given all things into his hand” (John 3:35).
Praise God that He is Love.
Praise God that his love is demonstrated in Jesus’ death on the cross. Praise God that HE IS LOVE! He does not just do loving acts, He defines love. Love flows freely from His being because He is Love! Praise Him that you could not earn or erase His love.
CONFESSION: Confess your sins to God and receive his continued mercy.
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9
THANKSGIVING: Giving thanks to God for his specific blessings in our lives.
“Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.” Psalm 100

- Pray that He’d give us vision for how to use our location to reach WSU with the Gospel.

The Faithful Manager
4 A person should think of us in this way: as servants of Christ and managers of the mysteries of God. 2 In this regard, it is required that managers be found faithful. 3 It is of little importance to me that I should be judged by you or by any human court.[a] In fact, I don’t even judge myself. 4 For I am not conscious of anything against myself, but I am not justified by this. It is the Lord who judges me. 5 So don’t judge anything prematurely, before the Lord comes, who will both bring to light what is hidden in darkness and reveal the intentions of the hearts. And then praise will come to each one from God.
The Apostles’ Example of Humility
6 Now, brothers and sisters, I have applied these things to myself and Apollos for your benefit, so that you may learn from us the meaning of the saying: “Nothing beyond what is written.” The purpose is that none of you will be arrogant, favoring one person over another. 7 For who makes you so superior? What do you have that you didn’t receive? If, in fact, you did receive it, why do you boast as if you hadn’t received it? 8 You are already full! You are already rich! Paul’s Fatherly Care
14 I’m not writing this to shame you, but to warn you as my dear children. 15 For you may have countless instructors in Christ, but you don’t have many fathers. For I became your father in Christ Jesus through the gospel. 16 Therefore I urge you to imitate me. 17 This is why I have sent Timothy to you. He is my dearly loved and faithful child in the Lord. He will remind you about my ways in Christ Jesus, just as I teach everywhere in every church.
18 Now some are arrogant, as though I were not coming to you. 19 But I will come to you soon, if the Lord wills, and I will find out not the talk, but the power of those who are arrogant. 20 For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power. 21 What do you want? Should I come to you with a rod, or in love and a spirit of gentleness?
SCRIPTURE REFLECTION:
A Kingdom is a realm of a king’s rule. The Kingdom of God is in one respect, the entire Cosmos. He is the rightful ruler of everything. For now, God allows some to continue to exist outside the realm of his rule. These rebels believe they are free and free from consequence but this is all a terrible illusion. The day will come when the reality of God as King of all will be manifest to all people. On that day every knee will bow, every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. (Romans 14:11). Today you have the opportunity to live in the Kingdom of God. Life in this Kingdom is good because the King is good. Life in the Kingdom now is the reign of Jesus in the hearts of his people. As you willingly and joyfully say “yes” to Jesus in your heart to whatever he asks of you then you are positioned to experience the best possible life now. The Kingdom of God is a matter of power not mere words. You are reading words on a screen…but you can experience God’s actual power to transform your life day by day. The realm of his power in your life is the realm of his will for your life. Go live in his power today.
