ADORATION – Reflect on God’s Greatness
God is a Trinity
God exists as three persons, yet he is one being. Each person of the Trinity—the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—has a separate identity while yet possessing the full nature of God.
Genesis 1:26 Let US make man in OUR own image.
Matthew 28:19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit (In this passage each person of the Trinity is given equal authority. Even though the word trinity is never used in the bible, it is implied here.)
Praise the Triune God
Praise the God who is love. He could not be loving if the trinity were false. Praise the God who is perfect and complete. Praise the God who enjoys endless fellowship. Praise the Son who took on the human flesh to be our substitute on the cross. Praise the Holy Spirit for his work to convict of sin and reveal the truth.
CONFESSION: Confess your sins to God and receive his continued mercy.
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9
THANKSGIVING: Giving thanks to God for his specific blessings in our lives.
“Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.” Psalm 100
SUPPLICATION: Bringing our requests to God.
- Bring your personal prayer requests to God.
- Pray for Embrace. Ask God to use their ministry as they minister to women considering abortion.
- Ask God to speak to you as you read the scriptures.

Paul Addresses the Areopagus
22 So Paul, standing in the midst of the Areopagus, said: “Men of Athens, I perceive that in every way you are very religious. 23 For as I passed along and observed the objects of your worship, I found also an altar with this inscription: ‘To the unknown god.’ What therefore you worship as unknown, this I proclaim to you. 24 The God who made the world and everything in it, being Lord of heaven and earth, does not live in temples made by man,[a] 25 nor is he served by human hands, as though he needed anything, since he himself gives to all mankind life and breath and everything. 26 And he made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place, 27 that they should seek God, and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him. SCRIPTURE REFLECTION:
Look around you. Do you see a house that you own? Maybe you don’t own the home you are in but you own the chair you sit in. Whatever is “ours” is temporary. Someday, someone else will own this home, or perhaps it will be taken down by the entropy of time. Look at your hand. It is “yours” but someday it will be still. Someday it will return to dust. All that we see will be “unmade.” But all will be “remade” at the resurrection. If you belong to Christ that hand, your body, and the physical universe will be restored. How are we to live in the temporary in light of the eternal? We must focus on faithfulness. Faithfulness to believe what is true. Set your thoughts on eternal truth. Do not be taken in by what is rushing by your mind but isn’t fully real. Set your heart on eternal love. Don’t allow your affections to be wrapped around what will be dust. Wrap your heart around what is permanent: love for God and love for people. Don’t let your actions be merely things that will not matter in eternity. Do what you do for the glory of God and the good of others. Look around you. Now close your eyes and ask God to help you see into eternity.
