I began attending River in 1993 after a friend invited me to visit. At that time, River was just a few years old and had about 100 people who attended the service in the gymnasium of Olivet Baptist Church. Attending church was a new and wonderful (and sometimes a little scary) experience of life in community. I graduated from Wichita South High School, Southwestern College, and Wichita State University. I also received a Master of Arts degree in Christian Education from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2007. Prior to working at River, I worked at a computer storage systems firm for 10 years as a program manager. I started working at River in 2003.
As the women’s pastor, I enjoy spending time with the women at River. I also oversee our membership process and help lead the membership seminar where I get the opportunity to meet new people and help them find ways to get connected! I love seeing how God works in people’s lives.
Hobbies and Interests:
Reading, working out, traveling…
There are so many good books, movies and more that I can’t pick just one of each!
Books: Authors I like: Ruth Haley Barton and Larry Crabb. I highly recommend: “Evidence Not Seen” by Darlene Deibler Rose. It’s an amazing, inspirational biography about walking by faith.
Place to eat: I love Mexican food! The spicier the better! I also love to sit outside and eat when the weather is nice.
