Theological training in and for the church

In today’s culture, we need more theological training, not less. River Christian Training provides an opportunity for believers to nurture their confidence in the truth of the gospel so we can better know and love God and make his love known to others.

What to Expect?

The River Christian Training classes are now being offered in partnership with Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and Spurgeon College. This is a pathway to potentially earn tuition-free undergraduate college credit or graduate-level credit if enrolled as a graduate student at Midwestern Seminary.

The classes are eight weeks in duration. Each class period is two and half hours. No childcare is provided.

River members who wish to receive credit must complete all associated course requirements. Requirements include in-person class attendance, quizzes, exams, written assignments, research papers, reading, and more. The coursework is equivalent to courses offered at Spurgeon College, the undergraduate division at Midwestern.

There are different tiers of participation available:

  • Tier 1: Receive credit by completing all course requirements. (River members only)
  • Tier 2: Audit the class and choose your level of participation/attendance. (River members and regular attenders)
Who Can Register?

To receive credit, you must be a member of River.

Regular attenders of River are welcome to participate and audit the class, but you will not receive credit.
