The Heart Attitudes

River is a values-driven church. Some of our highest values are what we call the heart attitudes. The Heart Attitudes are 7 values derived from scripture that guide our relationships with each other and with the church.

Exodus Reading Plan

Download Exodus Reading Plan

Beginning the first week of September, we’ll be reading through the book of Exodus together as we journey through our upcoming sermon series. I’ve put together a five-day-a-week reading plan that will take us through Exodus from September through the end of the year.

This plan is a little different than some we’ve done in the past. Instead of reading whole chapters, each day’s reading includes a selected passage from Exodus along with a New Testament passage (and occasionally an Old Testament passage) that helps shed light on what we’re reading. My hope is that we’ll see more clearly how all of Scripture points us to Christ.

Think of the weekly readings as preparing the soil for Sunday’s sermon. You’ll spend the week reading a larger section of Exodus, and then on Sunday we’ll see how one of the major themes from that passage points us to Christ.

Printed copies of the reading plan are available at the Information Station in the Gathering Space next to the sermon listening guides.

If you’ve been looking for a place to begin reading God’s Word more consistently—or if you’ve gotten away from a reading plan—this is a great time to jump in.

My prayer is that as we read through Exodus together, we’ll know God more deeply, see Christ more clearly, and learn to trust and follow him more faithfully.

God Bless,
Jim
