Dear River Family,

This past week I encouraged some of the folks leading the response in our state to pay attention to their overall health.  They are working long hours for days on end but they must find the time to eat right, sleep well, take walks.  They must pay attention to good thinking even though they are being exposed to worst case scenarios all day long.  They must maintain key relationships with God and others.
It is important that we pay attention to physical health and be good citizens during this time of great threat and opportunity but it especially important to pay attention to comprehensive health right now.  Check yourself, check in on others…encourage one another to be faithful to make the choices that can help decrease and not increase stress in our lives.  Do this for the glory of God and the good others.

God bless,
Pastor Terry

Sunday Worship

Live Stream Worship: (Rivercc.org)

  • 9:30 a.m. SuperChurch/Next (for kids)
  • 10:00 a.m. Worship/sermon
  • Gather with family and/or friends for “scattered” live worship
  • Worship will include: prayer, music, message
  • If you miss it at that time or have technical difficulties, a video will be available on the website (Rivercc.org) at 11:15 a.m.
*Tips:  Get connected 10 minutes early (9:20 for kids; 9:50 for adults).  To maximize the time, put yourself in a worship “posture” by preparing yourself mentally and physically for the time.  Get dressed, finish breakfast, be ready.

Children

By the end of each Friday, we’ll post resources on the website just for kids. Let’s be honest: there are lots of resources to keep your kids engaged with God right now, but there’s nothing like a familiar face, right?! And we sure miss seeing your kids’ faces these days! Looking forward to “seeing” your kids this weekend! Contact Erin, children@nullrivercc.org, with any needs!

NOTE: The next time you want to access, use this link: https://digitalpass.lifeway.com Click “Already Have a LifeWay ID? Sign in” and log in. Then click on “My Dashboard” and go to “LifeWay Kids at Home” like you did before.

-Also…Minno (formerly JellyTelly) has made available Minno Church At Home where you can choose a worship video, a Bible story video, and/or a devotional for your “church at home” experience. You can even download and print activity packs for your kids. Minno is also a great subscription service for streaming/downloading quality Christian media for your family. They offer a free trial, so you might check that out as well. Here’s a link: https://www.gominno.com

Youth

We miss seeing our youth face-to-face each week, so we are focusing on connecting with the youth via virtual small groups at least weekly. This will be mainly accomplished using Zoom or Facetime, but may also be supplemented with Marco Polo, Group Me, or group texts, etc.  Contact Sherri Brummer, sherri@nullrivercc.org, if you need help with any of the media we are using or if your student needs help knowing how to connect with a group. Praying daily for our youth to connect deeply with Christ during this unusual time.

College (Christian Challenge)

Christian Challenge services will be streamed live at 7:30 each Thursday night. The link to the online service will be sent out weekly to the Challenge email list (sign up here), text list (sign up here), and it will be posted to the Challenge Facebook page. Small groups will continue to meet in a virtual format. Contact trace@nullrivercc.org if you’d like to connect with a small group.

Small Groups

Small groups cannot meet in person at this time, but your group leader will push information to you regarding your group plan.  There are many virtual group meetings happening. Stay connected!

The Heart Attitudes

River is a values-driven church. Some of our highest values are what we call the heart attitudes. The Heart Attitudes are 7 values derived from scripture that guide our relationships with each other and with the church.

Daily Devotionals

Five devotionals are provided each week that correspond to the sermon that is given on Sundays. The devotionals include an opening prayer, a scripture reading and thoughts for reflection and response. The devotionals are a tool to help us take the scripture presented in the message on Sunday and apply it to our lives. You can read the devotionals online or have them emailed to you each day.

We have three children’s ministries. Nursery (age 0-3), Super Church (age 3 – 1st Grade), and two RiverNEXT classes (2nd & 3rd grade and  4th & 5th grade).

Youth

River Youth Group is for Middle School and High School students. They meet on Sunday evenings at River.

College

Christian Challenge is the college ministry at River. Challenge meets on Thursday evenings during the school year.

River has instituted our SAFE CHURCH POLICIES to safeguard children and adults involved in our ministries. The policies also include our plan to respond to any allegation of sexual or physical misconduct.
