6.21.26 – Faithful Stewards: Preach the Word, Finish the Race
This week’s sermon from 2 Timothy 4:1–8 brought us to the end of Paul’s final letter. Having reminded Timothy of the resources God had provided—godly examples and God’s Word—Paul now turns to Timothy’s stewardship. Timothy is charged to be faithful with what God has entrusted to him, regardless of circumstances, results, or opposition. Paul’s focus is not on numerical success or visible fruitfulness but on faithfulness. He calls Timothy to preach the Word, endure hardship, keep his head, do the work of evangelism, and finish well. Paul then points to his own life as an example of what faithful endurance looks like.
MAIN POINT: God has called us to faithfulness, not merely fruitfulness. We are to faithfully steward what He has entrusted to us and finish the race with perseverance.

LET’S REMEMBER:
Paul’s final charge was a call to faithfulness. God has entrusted each of us with responsibilities, relationships, and opportunities. Our task is not to control the outcome but to faithfully steward what He has given us.
Day by day, we choose faithfulness—repenting when we fail, trusting God’s grace, and pressing forward. By His strength, we want to be able to say with Paul: “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
CLOSING PRAYER
Lord, help us be faithful with what You’ve given us. Strengthen us to keep trusting Your Word, endure hardship, and share the gospel with others. Help us live with eternity in view and finish well. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
