The resources God has given us to live a thriving life are His Word, Spirit, and People.

Background Information: Psalm 119:89-176
The movie “Conclave” is a fictional account of the search for a new Pope in the Catholic church. At one point, the main character gives a sermon where he says, “Certainty is the greatest sin.” Certainty is thought to be the enemy of genuine faith; this idea is the heart of the movie, and it is the beating heart of many people’s personal theologies today. The irony is that this inability to have certainty is believed and expressed with great certainty. People are certain that you cannot be certain. The fact is that genuine faith is built on the certainty of God and the certainty of his revealed word. Psalm 119 is about having great certainty because we have God’s word. We don’t have certainty about everything, but we have certainty wherever God has spoken.
“Lord, your word is forever; it is firmly fixed in heaven.”
How do we keep off evil and destructive paths? We walk according to God’s word. How do we walk the good path if we’re unclear as to what this path is? How could his word be a lamp to our path if it did not shine with certainty? There is some uncertainty in our lives. We don’t know what tomorrow holds. However, there is great certainty in our lives in that we know that tomorrow is in God’s hands. We know because his word has told us this. Today, as we look to his word, we know the good path to walk. Tomorrow, if we are given another day, God will not have changed, and neither will his word change. Tomorrow will be another day of the goodness of God in the land of the living, or it will be the day we see God face to face in all his glory. Of this we can be certain.
