The resources God has given us to live a thriving life are His Word, Spirit, and People.
Read God’s Word:
John 1:1-3, Psalm 8 & 104
Act 1: God’s Plan for All People
Scene 1: The Creation: The God of all of life.
Background Information: John 1:1-3, Psalm 8 & 104
Some translations say that mankind has been made a little less than “heavenly beings,” and some say “God.” The Hebrew word can go either way. Bottom line, David was amazed that the God who has made the cosmos pays any attention to us. Even more amazing, he has made us in his image and has given us stewardship/dominion over the world. He begins and ends with, “O Lord, our Lord, how magnificent is your name in all the earth!” We should begin and end our days like that. We should live our days with a joyful awareness of our great stewardship. When we look at the created world and consider our Creator, we must remember that he is a Triune God. In John 1 we find that Jesus was there before the beginning. In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and was God! Jesus is the Word who became flesh and dwelt among us. This very same Jesus has made all things. We worship the triune God, Father, Son, and Spirit. Three persons in one being. With that thought in mind we can even more say, “Oh Lord our Lord, how magnificent is your name!”
