Hearing God’s Voice from His Word
James 4:8 says, “Come near to God and he will come near to you.”
Take a moment and turn your attention to God. Tell God that you desire to trust and obey Him. Ask God to speak to you from His word.

Living as God’s People by applying the Bible
Scripture Reflection from the Sermon
God is so merciful and kind. He, the creator and sustainer of the world, made all people of the earth. Even though all people of the earth rejected him, he is committed to all nations knowing and enjoying him forever. There is no people group outside of his affection. Revelation 7 says that all peoples of the earth will come and worship before him. God is also faithful. He promised that Abraham would be a blessing to all peoples of the earth. Abraham was not completely faithful in trusting God, but God still faithfully kept his promise. There is no people group that will stand outside of God’s faithful promise to Abraham, because God is faithful, and he keeps his promises. Thank him for showing himself to you. If he had not come to you, you would not know him. Being part of a distinct people group does not make a person more or less likely to know God. All have sinned and fallen short of his glory. It is only by the initiative of his mercy and kindness that a person might be accepted into his family. If you have trusted in Jesus, then you are part of the family of God. You are now part of a new and everlasting people group. Praise him and thank him for his mercy.
