Share with your group how you have personally benefited through serving with our ministry partners.
Terry was impacted by an FCA director and Donnovan was impacted by Jim Presnell who invited Donnovan to mentor. The FCA director and Jim did not know how their faithfulness would play out in the future. Think of a person or a single event in your life that impacted the trajectory of your life for good. Share that event with the group.
Read Titus 2:1-15
We didn’t read Titus 2:1-10 in church but in verses 1-10 Paul is instructing Timothy to give instructions to the “everyday” people in his church. His instruction in verse 1-10 flow into the instructions in verse 11-15. Look through verse 1-10 and mention any repeated instructions. Is there a general theme that emerges in verse 1-10? Is there a particular instruction that resonates with you.
Turn your attention to Titus 2:11-15
How does salvation instruct us to live? (hint: look at verse 12)
Rodney focused on the word sensible from CSB version of the bible. Is there another of the words that resonates with you? Why?
In view of God’s mercy, the only sensible thing for us to do is to offer all of ourselves to the one who gave himself for us. Is there a place in your life where you are not living surrendered? Can you explain why “it does not make sense” to surrender? Why are you holding back?
Pray:
God has promised us a blessed hope. Ask God to help you envision this blessed hope so that you would have fuel for your life today.
Pray for our ministry partners.
Ask God if he wants you to serve or participate with our partners in some way.
