The River devotionals for this week will focus on thanksgiving. Each devotional will consist of one Psalm and some thoughts from that Psalm to guide your thanksgiving.
Psalms were meant to be heard and not just read silently. If you can, read the Psalm aloud. As you express your thanksgiving, express it audibly rather than just in your mind. God knows your thoughts, but if you speak aloud to him, it will help you remember that he is present and personal.
Psalm 100
1 Let the whole earth shout triumphantly to the LORD!
2 Serve the LORD with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs.
3 Acknowledge that the LORD is God.
He made us, and we are his,—
his people, the sheep of his pasture.
4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise.
Give thanks to him and bless his name.
5 For the LORD is good, and his faithful love endures forever;
his faithfulness, through all generations.
Christian Standard Bible (Nashville, TN: Holman Bible Publishers, 2020), Ps 100:1–5.
