John 17 Devotional – Day 5

By November 15, 2024Daily Devotional

Hearing God’s Voice from His Word

James 4:8 says, “Come near to God and he will come near to you.”
Take a moment and turn your attention to God. Tell God that you desire to trust and obey Him. Ask God to speak to you from His word.

Psalm of the Day

Psalm 75:1
We give thanks to you, God;
we give thanks to you, for your name is near.
People tell about your wondrous works.

Give thanks to God. Without him what would you have? Without him, who would you be? Give thanks to him because he has stooped down and come near. Give thanks.

Scripture Reading & Reflection

Read: – “Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.” John 17:17

Pray:
Father, please sanctify me; set me apart for your purposes. I thank you that you have begun this work in me and that you will complete this work. Help me to be faithful to put your word deeply into my heart so that the Spirit will be able to bring to mind what I need when I need it. Thank you for the grace of sanctification; this is your work in me. Give me the grit of sanctification. Help me to do the work of knowing your word. I need your help to find balance; please empower me to be full of faith and to be fully faithful. For your glory and for my joy, Amen.
