Hearing God’s Voice from His Word
James 4:8 says, “Come near to God and he will come near to you.”
Take a moment and turn your attention to God. Tell God that you desire to trust and obey Him. Ask God to speak to you from His word.
Psalm of the Day
Psalm 102:25-28 Long ago you (LORD) established the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands. 26 They will perish, but you will endure; all of them will wear out like clothing. You will change them like a garment, and they will pass away. 27 But you are the same, and your years will never end. 28 Your servants’ children will dwell securely, and their offspring will be established before you.”
The Lord will endure – Praise God because He remains. He is faithful in your day. He was in days past. He will continue to be faithful. A time will come when the earth as we know it will end. Until that day and beyond that day God will endure in His faithfulness. Praise Him for His enduring faithfulness and His power and His creativity.
SCRIPTURE READING:
Joshua 24:14-18 – Christian Standard Bible
14 “Therefore, fear the Lord and worship him in sincerity and truth. Get rid of the gods your ancestors worshiped beyond the Euphrates River and in Egypt, and worship the Lord. 15 But if it doesn’t please you to worship the Lord, choose for yourselves today: Which will you worship—the gods your ancestors worshiped beyond the Euphrates River or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living? As for me and my family, we will worship the Lord.”
16 The people replied, “We will certainly not abandon the Lord to worship other gods! 17 For the Lord our God brought us and our ancestors out of the land of Egypt, out of the place of slavery, and performed these great signs before our eyes. He also protected us all along the way we went and among all the peoples whose lands we traveled through. 18 The Lord drove out before us all the peoples, including the Amorites who lived in the land. We too will worship the Lord, because he is our God.”

Living as God’s People by applying the Bible
Scripture Reflection from the Sermon
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers. Gal. 6:9,10
A gap in sowing will lead to a gap in harvesting. If you have stopped sowing good into the lives of others and are currently coasting, there are dry and hungry days ahead. Quickly now, get back into the field! If you are hungry for meaning and fruit because of squandered opportunity in the past, quickly now, get back into the field. If you are faithfully sowing and are just waiting for the harvest to come in, don’t give up! God will sustain you until the harvest comes in, but you must not presume on his faithfulness; you must choose to be found faithful yourself. If you are in a time of both faithful sowing and fruitful reaping, then rejoice. This is mostly because of his faithfulness, but it is also because of yours. Rejoice that he has been faithful, and let the fruit that is tied to your own faithfulness inspire you to stay behind your plow.
