Hebrews 1:1-3 Devotional – Day 5

ADORATION – Reflect on God’s Greatness

GOD IS THE LIFE GIVER
All of life was and is created by God and is dependent on Him.

Acts 17:24-25 The God who made the world and everything in it, being Lord of heaven and earth, does not live in temples made by man, 25 nor is he served by human hands, as though he needed anything, since he himself gives to all mankind life and breath and everything.

Genesis 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

Praise God – The Giver of Life
Praise God for the life He has given you. Praise God because He has given every person life. Praise God that He sustains all of life.

CONFESSION: Confess your sins to God and receive his continued mercy.

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9

THANKSGIVING: Giving thanks to God for his specific blessings in our lives.

“Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.” Psalm 100

SUPPLICATION: Bringing our requests to God.

  • Bring your personal prayer requests to God.
  • Pray for our three OneLink teams serving this summer. Ask God to use these students to make the gospel known to others.

SCRIPTURE READING:
Hebrews 1:1-3 – Christian Standard Bible
Long ago God spoke to our ancestors by the prophets at different times and in different ways. 2 In these last days, he has spoken to us by his Son. God has appointed him heir of all things and made the universe through him. 3 The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact expression of his nature, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.

SCRIPTURE REFLECTION:
Today you are going to have to do some work. Do your best to memorize this passage today. Start now. At the very least, mull it over deeply in your mind, phrase by phrase, thought by thought. Take it with you as you go through this day.

1 In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, 2 but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe. 3 The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.
