I. Prayer to enter the Lord’s presence:

Isaiah 9:6 “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
John 16:33 “I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”
This passage from Isaiah is a well-known passage associated with Christmas. The background behind the promise of Jesus’ birth was a time of fear and war. In the midst of that difficult season, God promised the birth of a savior who would bring joy to all people.
The series of four names describes the kind of ruler king Jesus is: wise, strong, loving, one who produces peace.
Reflect on who God is. Choose today to put your trust in the wise, strong, loving God who produces peace. Reorient your mind and heart to the reality of who God is.

Pray specifically for the concerns of your life and the lives of others.
VI. Prayer of commitment:
“Lord God, I commit to love you with all my heart and with all my soul and with all my strength and with all my mind and to love my neighbor as myself. Empower me today to love you and others with everything that I am.” (Luke 10:27)
