Our Children’s Ministries provide kids from birth through 5th grade with a loving, fun, safe and secure environment to grow in God’s love. This enables parents to attend worship in order to gain a stronger foundation so they can lead their families with Biblical truth.

Your child’s safety is our priority.

  • We use a computer check-in/check-out system to help ensure your child’s safety. When you drop your child off, you will be greeted by someone at the Welcome Desk. There is one Welcome Desk on the first floor just outside the Nursery area, and another upstairs just inside the SuperChurch room. You may check all your children in at either Welcome Desk.
  • First-time visitors will be asked to provide the child’s information and parent/guardian contact information.
  • Your child will be checked into the computer and provided a name tag to wear. If your child needs you during the service, we will text you. Please make sure we have a current cell phone number and keep your cell phone available (on silent) during the service.
  • Parents or guardians are the only ones allowed to pick your child up from the Nursery, SuperChurch or RiverNext rooms. If you have family or friends that have your permission to pick up your child, please let us know in advance.

We ask that you not bring your child to church if he or she has:

  • had a fever of at least 100.4 in the last 24 hours
  • vomited or had diarrhea in the last 24 hours
  • excessive coughing or runny nose
  • skin or eye infections or unexplained rashes
  • head lice
  • childhood diseases such as chicken pox, mumps, measles, etc.

Nursery

The Nursery is located on the first floor, east of the foyer. We have 3 rooms that separate children by age and development.

  • Newborns start out in the Infant Room.
  • When they are beginning to crawl, they move to the Explorer Room.
  • At the age of 18 months, those who are walking confidently move to the Toddler Room
  • When children are 3 years old and able to use the restroom without assistance, they are ready to move upstairs for SuperChurch.
  • Each Nursery room has a team of volunteers who serve every week or every other week, so your child will see a familiar face each time he or she comes.
  • Due to food allergies, we do not allow food and drinks in the rooms with the exception of milk, formula, or water.

If you have any questions or concerns about our Nursery, please feel free to talk with River’s Nursery Coordinator, Tiffany Bartlett.

SuperChurch & RiverNext

Children in SuperChurch and RiverNext worship, learn and grow in love for Jesus through fun and activity–they will always remember what they did and saw much longer than what they heard! We use Lifeway’s The Gospel Project curriculum to teach kids that the Bible is one big story of God’s deep love and desire to rescue us, His children. Each lesson points to the Savior Jesus, and is designed to meet children on their level to encourage growth in their relationship with Jesus and to develop a prayerful heart for each other, our mission partners and non-believers.

SuperChurch is for children who are 3 years old through 1st graders. (3-year-olds must be able to use the restroom without assistance.) RiverNext is for 2nd through 5th graders. SC and RN classes are held during both services upstairs. Kids can be checked into our computer check-in system at either the Nursery or SuperChurch Welcome Desk.

SuperChurch begins with free play, where kids and adult & teen teachers enjoy games and activities. Then we gather as a large group for worship, birthday recognition, memory verse songs, and the day’s Bible story video and lesson. We end this time with the Missions Moment, where we learn about and pray for one of River’s many missions partners and  missionaries throughout the world. During the last part of the hour, the children are divided into age- or grade-level classes where they “experience” the day’s lesson through activities selected for each age group.

RiverNext is divided into two classes: 2nd & 3rd Graders and 4th & 5th Graders. While The Gospel Project lesson is the same as in SuperChurch, every aspect of the RN hour is designed to teach 2nd through 5th graders how they learn best–through fun activities and meaningful discussion. The hour includes music, games, a Bible story video, lots of discussion, Bible skills and Missions Moment. RN kids are encouraged to ask questions as they seek to know and understand the Lord and their growing Christian faith.
